Accident Overview
Shortly after departure from Alma-Ata Airport, the aircraft was climbing through 80 meters when it initiated a right bank, lost altitude, and impacted houses in the village of Krasnoye Polye near the airport. The aircraft and several houses were destroyed.
Casualties and Injuries
A crew member and three passengers sustained fatal injuries. An additional 27 occupants were injured. No casualties occurred on the ground.
Probable Cause
The investigation determined that the right engine lost power during the initial climb when the landing gear were retracted. The resulting loss of airspeed caused the aircraft to stall.
