What happened
The incident occurred while the crew was conducting a training mission. During the flight, they encountered adverse meteorological conditions characterized by thunderstorm activity and significant turbulence. As a result of these conditions, the twin-engine airplane lost control and impacted the ground approximately 14 miles northwest of Ungarie.
Search and rescue operations were initiated immediately following the crash. However, no trace of the aircraft or the crew members was found during the initial search efforts. The wreckage was subsequently located by local residents in June 2008.
The flight deck consisted of five individuals: a Pilot Officer, two Leading Aircraftmen, another Leading Aircraftman, and an Aircraftman First Class. All personnel on board were lost in the accident.
