What happened
During the initial climb phase following departure from Bahía Solano-José Celestino Mutis Airport, the flight crew experienced technical difficulties related to the engines. In response to the developing engine problems, the captain executed an emergency descent to perform a landing in a nearby prairie.
The aircraft completed the landing in a gear-up configuration, sliding for several dozen meters across the terrain before the movement ceased. While the impact caused the aircraft to be damaged beyond repair, all three occupants managed to exit the wreckage. The crew and passengers sustained only minor injuries during the incident.
Findings
- The primary factor leading to the emergency landing was the encounter with engine problems during the climb phase.
