What happened

During an approach to Guidonia Airbase from the northeast direction, a twin engine airplane collided with the terrain at Mt Pellecchia. The impact occurred near Monteflavio, situated approximately 15 km northeast of the destination airfield.

The collision with the slope of the mountain resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were four fatalities among the crew members on board during the accident.
