What happened
Following a departure from the Treviso-Istrana Airbase, the flight crew contacted air traffic control to report the presence of technical issues. In response to these complications, the aircraft was granted permission to perform an emergency diversion to Venice-Tessera Airport.
During the final approach to the runway, the aircraft became uncontrollable. The plane impacted the ground a few hundred meters before reaching the runway threshold. The accident resulted in three fatalities, involving all members of the crew.
Findings
While the specific nature of the mechanical failure was not detailed, the sequence of events indicates that the aircraft experienced a loss of control during the landing phase following the initial report of technical problems.
