What happened
During an approach to Bandung-Husein Sastranegara Airport, the crew began their descent into the region. At the time of the flight, the area was experiencing adverse weather characterized by intense rainfall. While navigating these difficult conditions, the aircraft descended to an insufficient altitude and collided with the side of Mt Puntang, situated approximately 25 km south of the destination airport.
The impact caused the aircraft to break apart. There were no survivors of the accident, with a total of 31 fatalities recorded among the occupants.

- The descent was conducted during periods of heavy rain and poor visibility.
- The aircraft struck terrain due to being at an altitude that was too low for the surrounding topography.
