What happened
During an approach to Banda Neira Airport, an aircraft experienced a runway excursion while landing on the wet surface of runway 10/28. As the aircraft touched down, it began to slide and subsequently drifted toward the right side of the runway. Upon exiting the paved surface and encountering soft ground, the landing gear failed. This structural collapse caused the aircraft to break into two separate pieces.
Despite the severity of the impact and the breakup of the airframe, all 18 occupants were able to evacuate the wreckage. There were no fatalities reported, though the passengers and crew sustained minor injuries during the event.
Findings
