What happened

During a flight operating from Gurupi to São Felix do Araguaia, the aircraft was overtaken by four individuals among the six passengers on board. During the hijacking, two of the passengers assumed control of the flight controls. The aircraft was subsequently directed to land at a small airstrip situated at Fazenda Uirapuru, in the vicinity of Sinop.

Once the aircraft reached the ground, the two pilots and two passengers exited the plane. The four hijackers then departed the airstrip in the aircraft. Shortly after the takeoff, the plane struggled to climb, eventually striking a tree and crashing into a ravine approximately 30 km from Sinop. The impact resulted in the destruction of the aircraft. Following the crash, the four hijackers remained missing and were never found.
