What happened
During a mission to transport military personnel for upcoming elections, an aircraft crashed while returning to Bucaramanga-Palonegro Airport. The flight had previously completed a drop-off in Cimitarra before beginning its return journey.
While traversing the Cordillera de los Cobardes region, specifically near Mt San Vicente, the plane collided with a mountain slope. The impact was severe enough to result in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were five fatalities among the crew and passengers on board, with no survivors reported from the wreckage.
