What happened
Shortly after departing from San José del Guaviare Airport, the flight crew encountered a critical mechanical issue involving an engine failure. In response to the malfunction, an emergency was declared by the crew.
During the subsequent attempt to perform an emergency landing on Mt Las Lajas, the aircraft struck the terrain approximately eight minutes after its initial takeoff. The impact resulted in the aircraft being damaged beyond repair.
Despite the severity of the crash landing, all 23 occupants managed to evacuate the wreckage. There were no fatalities reported, though the passengers and crew sustained minor injuries during the event.

Official investigations into the incident concluded that the primary factor leading to the emergency was an engine failure of undetermined origin.
