What happened
During an arrival at In Guezzam Airport, an aircraft experienced a high-impact touchdown. The force of the landing caused the nose landing gear to fail and collapse. Following the structural failure, the aircraft slid across the runway for several dozen meters before the movement ceased.
There were no fatalities or injuries reported during the incident, as all occupants managed to evacuate the aircraft safely. However, the impact and subsequent slide resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss, as the damage was deemed beyond repair.
Findings
- The primary cause of the gear failure was a hard landing.
- The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it non-operational.
