A scheduled Bandung–Jakarta flight crashed after the left engine lost power shortly after takeoff. The aircraft struck roofs on final approach to Bandung-Sulaiman AFB, killing 28 of 50 occupants.

Incident Overview and Emergency Response A regularly scheduled flight departed Bandung-Husein Sastranegara Airport for Jakarta with 45 passengers and 5 crew members aboard. Shortly after takeoff, the captain reported to air traffic control that the left engine had lost power and elected to divert to Bandung-Sulaiman AFB for an emergency landing. ## Crash and Casualties During the final approach to runway 13, the crew was unable to maintain a safe altitude. The aircraft struck roofs and crashed. Twenty occupants were rescued, while 28 others were killed, including all five crew members. All occupants were Indonesian citizens except for one passenger from Singapore.
