What happened
The incident occurred during the landing phase of flight. After the four-engine aircraft touched down on the runway, it was unable to decelerate sufficiently within the remaining usable distance. Consequently, the aircraft overran the end of the runway and eventually came to a complete stop outside the paved surface.
Findings
The event resulted in no fatalities or injuries among those on board. However, the impact and subsequent stoppage caused significant structural damage to the airframe. The extent of this damage was assessed as being beyond economical repair, rendering the aircraft unserviceable.
