What happened
During the final approach phase to Schleswig AFB, a four-engine aircraft descended too low for its position relative to the runway. The flight path was insufficient to allow for a safe landing or a go-around. Consequently, the airframe impacted the ground several hundred yards short of the designated touchdown zone.
The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. Of the four individuals on board, three crew members were killed in the accident. The fourth occupant sustained injuries but survived the crash. The source material does not provide a specific registration mark for this incident.
