What happened
During an arrival at Tashkent-Yuzhny Airport, the aircraft was operating under challenging meteorological conditions characterized by strong crosswinds. Upon completing the approach and making touchdown on the runway, the flight experienced a sudden loss of directional control. The aircraft subsequently veered off the prepared surface and came to a halt.
Despite the severity of the excursion, there were no casualties reported among those on board. All 89 passengers and 8 crew members successfully evacuated the plane without injury. While all occupants survived, the impact and subsequent movement resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss due to damage sustained during the event.
Findings
- The landing took place amidst marginal weather visibility and significant lateral wind components.
