Incident Overview and Aircraft Details On January 6, 2023, at 17:28 UTC, a Cessna Aircraft Company model 208B, registration YV3032, serial number 208B5136, began a takeoff roll from runway 09 at the Aeropuerto Internacional “Simón Bolívar” (SVMI) in Maiquetía, Venezuela. The aircraft, owned by Consorcio Venezolano de Industrias Aeronáuticas y Servicios Aéreos, S.A. (CONVIASA), was operating under a flight plan to Aeródromo El Gran Roque (SVRS). It carried 12 people: two crew members and ten passengers, with 1,100 pounds of fuel and an endurance of 2 hours and 15 minutes. ## Operational Sequence and Outcome During the takeoff roll, the crew aborted the maneuver due to a torque indication discrepancy. The digital torque indicator exceeded its limit and entered the red arc, while the analog indicator remained at 2,200 pounds. The crew elected to abort the takeoff and address the issue on the ground. The aircraft exited runway 09 via intersection L and taxied under its own power to remote national platform 4A.
