What happened
On May 27, 2022, a Beechcraft 200, registration LV-OFT, was involved in a ground incident at San Fernando International Airport in Buenos Aires. The aircraft, operated for private general aviation purposes, had completed a flight from Teniente Daniel Jukic Airport. Following a successful landing, the aircraft was taxiing along taxiway "C" toward the apron when the nose landing gear tire casing failed.
The investigation
The investigation focused on the circumstances surrounding the tire failure during the taxi phase of the operation. The aircraft was operating under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) at the time of the event. The incident occurred while the aircraft was in the process of maneuvering toward its parking position after arriving at its destination.
Findings
- The primary cause of the incident was the bursting of the nose landing gear tire cover/casing.
