A four-engine aircraft crashed into a mountainside while approaching Medan-Polonia airport under adverse weather conditions, resulting in no survivors.

What happened

During an approach to Medan-Polonia airport, a four-engine aircraft encountered difficult meteorological conditions. While the flight was in its descent phase, the aircraft made contact with the terrain on the slope of Mount Sibayak. The impact with the mountainside caused the total destruction of the airframe.

There were no survivors of the accident. All 10 occupants on board the aircraft perished during the collision.
