Incident Overview
A Boeing 737-800, registration UR-SQP, operating as SkyUp Airlines flight FEG8901 from Tallinn, Estonia to Hurghada, Egypt, experienced a cabin pressure loss during cruise at flight level FL360. The event occurred at approximately 02:55 UTC. In response, the oxygen masks automatically deployed in the passenger cabin.
Sequence of Events
The captain initiated an emergency descent to FL140. After stabilizing the aircraft, a decision was made to divert to Warsaw Chopin Airport in Poland as the alternate landing site. The aircraft landed safely, with no damage to the airframe. All crew members and passengers were uninjured.
Investigation
The Polish State Commission on Aircraft Accident Investigation, in accordance with Annex 13 to the Chicago Convention, delegated the full investigation to the National Bureau of Air Accidents Investigation (NBRI) of Ukraine, as the state of registry and operator. The investigation will focus on determining the cause of the cabin pressure loss.
