What happened
While conducting a scheduled cargo operation, an aircraft transporting several drums of fuel encountered a sudden fire within its cargo compartment. The presence of flammable materials in the hold contributed to the intensity of the incident as the crew worked to manage the situation while airborne.
In response to the developing blaze, the crew initiated emergency procedures and attempted to reach the ground as quickly as possible. The aircraft successfully reached a landing site in the vicinity of Suntar. Upon touchdown, all individuals on board were able to evacuate the airframe safely.
Despite the successful evacuation, the fire continued to spread after the landing. The aircraft was subsequently consumed by flames and was completely destroyed during the incident.
