Incident Overview
On a regular scheduled service, a single-engine airplane departed Kobyay at 1205 local time, carrying eight passengers and two pilots. The flight was bound for Sangar. While cruising at an altitude of 550 meters in good weather conditions, the engine lost power and subsequently failed.
Emergency Landing and Crash
The crew initiated an emergency landing. The aircraft crashed in a prairie located approximately 35 kilometers southwest of Sangar. All ten occupants escaped without injury. The aircraft sustained damage beyond repair.
Probable Cause
According to the official investigation, the accident was caused by an engine failure in flight following the failure of cylinder number 7 due to manufacturing problems.
