What happened
On the morning of the accident, an aircraft departed from Annecy-Meythet Airport, bound for Toussus-le-Noble. The flight was being conducted under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) with a total of six people on board, consisting of one pilot and five passengers. The planned duration for the journey was roughly one hour.
While cruising at FL180 in the vicinity of Auxerre, the pilot contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) to indicate readiness for a descent. Following this communication, the pilot was granted clearance to descend to FL120. During this phase of flight, the aircraft began to deviate to the left of its assigned airway. Approximately two minutes after the initial descent clearance, ATC notified the pilot of the deviation. In response, the pilot attempted to correct the course by initiating a right-hand turn. During this maneuver, the pilot lost control of the aircraft. The plane entered a steep dive, gaining extreme vertical speed before striking an open field. The impact caused the aircraft to disintegrate, resulting in six fatalities.
