What happened
During ground operations at Đà Nẵng Airport, an aircraft experienced a structural failure of its nose landing gear while taxiing. The collapse of the gear caused the nose of the plane to strike the ground, which subsequently punctured the cockpit area. This impact resulted in one injury sustained by a member of the crew.
Following the incident, the aircraft was inspected for structural integrity. Due to the extent of the damage sustained during the gear collapse and the resulting puncture to the cockpit, the aircraft was determined to be a total loss, with damage assessed as beyond economical repair.
Findings
- The primary event was the collapse of the nose landing gear during the taxi phase of flight.
- The structural failure led to secondary damage via a puncture to the cockpit compartment.
