Air India and Drukair sign interline agreement

Air India and Drukair, Bhutan's national carrier, have signed an interline agreement letting travelers combine flights from both airlines on a single ticket. Baggage can be checked through to the final destination.

Under the arrangement, Air India passengers will be able to connect via Delhi to Paro, then continue on Drukair services to Bumthang, Gelephu and Yonphula, according to the announcement.

Drukair customers, in turn, gain access to Air India's domestic and international network through connections in Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata. That network reportedly includes routes to Europe, North America and Australia.

The deal is meant to ease travel between Bhutan and destinations on Air India's wider route map. No financial terms or start date for the arrangement were disclosed.
