Delta to resume New York–Tel Aviv nonstop flights in September 2026

Delta Air Lines has said it will resume nonstop flights between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport starting September 6, 2026. The airline had suspended the route on February 28, 2026, after the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran.

The carrier said the decision followed a review of the security situation in the region. A Delta spokesperson said customer and employee safety remain the airline's top priority, adding that it would continue monitoring developments with aviation authorities and government agencies.

According to the airline, the first flight will depart New York and arrive in Israel on September 7, 2026, before returning to JFK the same day. The route will be operated with an Airbus A330-900neo.

Delta's announcement follows a similar move by United Airlines, which said last month it would restart flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to Tel Aviv on September 8, 2026. United has also said it plans to resume service between San Francisco and Tel Aviv in March 2027.

The resumptions mark a gradual return of US carriers to the Tel Aviv market after months of suspended service tied to regional security concerns.
