Event Description
During the landing phase in gusty crosswind conditions, the flight crew received an onboard wind shear alert approximately 5 seconds prior to touchdown. The airplane touched down with a 1.8 G load on the main landing gear, followed 2 seconds later by a 2.8 G spike on the nose landing gear. After touchdown, the first officer, who was the operating pilot, continued to push the control column forward. This caused the airplane to pitch nose down, resulting in the main landing gear alternately lifting off the ground. As a consequence, the ground spoilers retracted. The nose landing gear and its surrounding structure sustained damage.

The captain had accumulated 150 hours in the make and model of the airplane, while the first officer had 68 hours in the same make and model.
Weather and ATC Information
The Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) contained an advisory stating, "Low level windshear advisories are in effect," which was acknowledged by the flight crew. The local controller had advised preceding flights prior to the accident airplane's arrival on frequency that a gain or loss of 15 knots below 300 feet had been reported by several aircraft. This information was also given to the controller's relief about 1 minute before the airplane landed. However, this wind shear warning was not passed to the accident flight. ATC controllers were not required to repeat the warning when it was available on the ATIS.
