What happened
During a flight departing from Geneina Airport, a four-engine aircraft experienced a loss of control shortly after takeoff. The aircraft, which was operating a mission to return to Khartoum following the delivery of medical supplies, crashed approximately 5 km from the airport. The impact and a subsequent post-crash fire resulted in the total destruction of the airframe.
There were 18 fatalities recorded in the accident, including three children. No survivors were reported from the wreckage.
