Incident Overview
A Sudanese Air Force Antonov AN-26 was involved in a training exercise with a second Antonov AN-32 aircraft. After touching down on runway 18, the crew of the AN-26 initiated the braking procedure. Moments later, the AN-32 struck the AN-26 from behind.
Sequence of Events
Following the collision, both aircraft went out of control and came to rest on the edge of the runway. The impact resulted in the destruction of both airplanes.
Casualties and Damage
There were no casualties reported. However, both aircraft were destroyed.
Contributing Circumstances
It appears that the AN-32 landed shortly after the AN-26 and was unable to stop in a timely manner, leading to the collision.
