What happened
During an approach to Gorontalo-Jalaluddin Airport, the aircraft encountered severe weather conditions characterized by heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity. While navigating these conditions, the aircraft descended to an insufficient altitude and collided with the side of a mountain. The peak of the mountain is situated approximately 59 km from the destination airport and reaches an elevation of 1,500 meters.
Search efforts located the wreckage approximately 30 meters below the mountain summit. The accident resulted in one fatality, involving an elderly passenger, while the remaining occupants of the aircraft were successfully rescued from the site.
