What happened
During an arrival from Dniepropetrovsk, the crew initiated an approach to runway 25R at Moscow-Sheremetyevo Airport with the flaps set to 22°. Upon landing, the pilot attempted to implement braking procedures; however, the aircraft failed to decelerate as anticipated. Despite the activation of emergency braking systems, the plane maintained significant speed.
As the aircraft approached the runway threshold at approximately 70 knots, the copilot steered the plane to the right in an effort to exit the runway surface. This maneuver resulted in a ground loop, during which the aircraft entered a grassy area. The impact caused the loss of the undercarriage, and the aircraft eventually came to a stop. While the aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss, all 34 occupants managed to evacuate the scene uninjured.
