What happened
On May 12, 2023, at 18:38 UTC, a Beechcraft B200, registration LV-FUK, was conducting a non-scheduled medical transport flight when the crew encountered significant engine issues. While preparing for descent, the crew reported fluctuations in fuel flow and unstable parameters within the right engine. These fluctuations eventually led to the complete shutdown of the right engine. The crew declared an emergency and successfully performed an unplanned landing at San Fernando International Airport in the province of Buenos Aires. There were no injuries to the crew or passengers, and the aircraft sustained no damage.
The investigation
The investigation was conducted by the National Directorate for the Investigation of Aeronautical Occurrences (DNISAE). The inquiry focused on the mechanical failure of the engine group and issues related to the fuel system. Investigators performed a documentary review of the event in accordance with established civil aviation investigation procedures. Upon reviewing the findings, the authorities determined that the investigation did not yield significant elements that would necessitate new safety improvements for the State's operational safety.
