What happened
On August 6, 2023, an Embraer Phenom 300, registration PP-CGG, was operating a non-scheduled commercial flight from Salgado Filho International Airport to Teniente Luis Candelaria Bariloche International Airport. While cruising en route, the aircraft experienced a sudden loss of hydraulic pressure. In response to the system failure, the crew declared an emergency to notify air traffic services of the technical malfunction.
Despite the mechanical issue, the flight crew managed the situation effectively. The aircraft continued its flight toward its destination in Río Negro, Argentina. The aircraft successfully completed an emergency landing at Bariloche International Airport without further incident or damage to the airframe.
The investigation
The preliminary investigation focused on the sequence of events leading to the hydraulic failure and the subsequent emergency declaration. Investigators examined the flight path from the departure point in Brazil to the arrival in Argentina, specifically looking at the phase of flight when the pressure drop occurred. The investigation confirmed that there were no injuries to the two crew members or the six passengers on board, and no damage was sustained by the aircraft during the landing process.
