On June 27, 2021, a Robinson R44, registration RA-04247, was engaged in a series of planned flights. The pilot had completed several legs of the itinerary, including flights between Yalta Heliport, Anapa Airport, and Chemburka. Following a refueling stop at Yalta Heliport, the pilot requested weather updates for the remaining scheduled routes.
The fourth planned leg of the flight was intended to proceed from Yalta Heliport to Medved'-gora and Ai-Petri. During this phase of flight, the aircraft encountered moderate turbulence and potential wind gusts.
As the pilot encountered these weather conditions, the throttle became fixed, which caused the governor to disengage and resulted in a loss of rotor speed. The pilot attempted a forced landing on uneven terrain at an altitude of 1,175 meters above sea level. The landing was performed with a tailwind, leading to a hard impact and damage to the helicopter. No injuries were reported.
