What happened
During the initial climb phase following departure from Banjarmasin-Syamsudin Noor Airport, the flight crew identified a fire originating from the number two engine. In response to the emergency, the crew performed necessary procedures, which included shutting down the affected engine and feathering the propeller to mitigate the situation.
Following the emergency declaration, the aircraft returned to the departure airport. The crew managed to execute a successful landing on the main runway, bringing the aircraft to a halt. Although all 77 occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft without injury, the aircraft was subsequently destroyed by fire during the incident.
