What happened
Following a landing on runway 36R at Tainan Airport, the aircraft was in the process of slowing down when it veered from the paved surface. During this deceleration phase, the plane collided with several construction vehicles that were positioned adjacent to the runway.
Despite the impact with the ground equipment, the crew managed to bring the aircraft to a complete stop on the primary runway. All 175 occupants on board were able to exit the plane without injury. While there were no fatalities among the passengers or crew, the incident resulted in two injuries sustained by workers present on the ground at the time of the collision. The impact caused significant damage to the airframe, rendering the vehicle a total loss.
