Accident
Shortly after takeoff from Abuja-Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, while climbing, the flight crew reported an engine failure to air traffic control and received clearance for an immediate return to the airport. On final approach to runway 22, the aircraft lost control and crashed in an open field, bursting into flames upon impact.
The aircraft was destroyed in the accident. All seven occupants onboard were killed: two pilots, four ATOS (Airborne Tactical Observation System) specialists, and one technician.
