Accident Details
A twin-engine aircraft crashed while on final approach to Kaduna Airport under poor weather conditions. Immediately after impact, the aircraft burst into flames. The aircraft was totally destroyed by the impact forces and subsequent post-crash fire.
Occupants and Crew
The aircraft carried 11 occupants, all of whom were killed. On board were passengers including Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army, who was returning to Kaduna with a delegation. The delegation comprised six other Army officers: Brigadier General M. Abdulkadir, Brigadier General Olayinka, Brigadier General Kuliya, Major Lawal Hayat, Major Hamza, and Sergeant Umar.
The crew consisted of four members: Flight Lieutenants T. Asaniyi and A. Olufade, Sergeant Adesina, and Aircraftman Oyedepo.
Damage
The aircraft was completely destroyed by the impact and the ensuing fire. There was no mention of any survivors.
