What happened
During a flight intended for Tehran-Mehrabad Airport, the flight crew received notification regarding adverse meteorological conditions at their original destination. The report indicated heavy snowfall, reduced visibility, and a 20-knot tailwind. In response to these conditions, the decision was made to divert the flight to Isfahan-Shahid Beheshti Airport.
As the aircraft proceeded with its approach to Isfahan, the crew encountered significant fog, which further restricted visibility. During this phase of flight, the aircraft impacted the ground, causing the undercarriage to be torn away. Following the impact, the plane slid across the terrain for approximately one kilometer before coming to a halt in a desert region situated roughly 8 km from runway 26.
