What happened

While performing a takeoff roll on runway 12L at Dubai International Airport, the aircraft experienced a sudden mechanical failure. After passing the V1 decision speed, the crew reported hearing a loud bang followed by intense vibrations throughout the airframe. This was immediately followed by the collapse of the nose landing gear.

In response to the failure, the captain aborted the takeoff attempt and applied emergency braking. The aircraft subsequently slid on its nose for several hundred meters, eventually coming to a stop near the end of the runway, positioned slightly to the left of the centerline.

Outcomes

Despite the severity of the incident, all 250 occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft without injury. The aircraft sustained damage that was determined to be beyond repair.
