What happened
During a local training session at Manaus-Eduardo Gomes Airport, an aircraft was performing maneuvers involving a simulated asymmetrical power takeoff. Following this procedure, the flight crew, consisting of one pilot and one instructor, struggled to maintain adequate altitude. In an attempt to rectify the situation, the crew increased engine power; however, the aircraft stalled and descended into a nearby wooded area located a short distance from the airport. The impact resulted in the aircraft bursting into flames.
At the time of the accident, the plane was reportedly en route to São Paulo Airport and was transporting a cargo of televisions. The crash resulted in two fatalities, as both members of the crew were killed in the accident.
Findings
Official investigations into the crash identified several contributing factors related to flight management and oversight. The investigation concluded that the accident was driven by a combination of poor flight preparation and a lack of effective coordination between the crew members. Additionally, investigators noted a failure to adhere to established pre-takeoff procedures and insufficient supervision provided by the instructor during the training flight.
