What happened
During an approach to Salvador-Dois de Julho Airport, the flight encountered significant rainfall. Upon touching down on the wet runway surface, the aircraft type experienced a skid that caused it to deviate from the centerline and veer toward the left side of the runway.
As the plane moved onto the unpaved area adjacent to the runway, the landing gear failed under the impact with the soft terrain. The aircraft eventually came to a complete stop after the undercarriage collapsed. There were zero fatalities and no injuries reported among the occupants following the incident.
Findings
- Heavy precipitation during the approach phase.
- The wet runway conditions contributed to the loss of directional control during the landing roll.
