A positioning flight departing from Adana Airport crashed near Ceyhan during its initial climb, resulting in no survivors.

What happened

On the scheduled positioning flight from Adana Airport to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, an aircraft departed from runway 05 at 00:36 local time. The mission of the flight was to collect Turkish pilgrims for transport. Approximately nine minutes after the departure, while the aircraft was ascending to an altitude of 4,000 metres, the plane experienced a sudden nose-down movement.

Following this pitch change, the aircraft entered a steep dive and struck an open field located roughly 30 km east of Adana Airport, near the town of Ceyhan. The impact was extremely violent, causing the aircraft to disintegrate upon hitting the ground. The force of the crash was sufficient to create a large crater, with wreckage discovered at a depth of 10 metres. There were 0 survivors of the accident.
